Happy 242nd Birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps!

Once again, I had the honor of making the cake for our local Marine Corps Birthday Ball. This year’s cake was a tall order, serving 120 people. Being mom to a 6 week old baby doesn’t leave much time for baking fun, so I decided to use a few techniques to try to simplify this cake:

#TBT: Mirror Glaze Cake

I haven’t done too much baking while pregnant (much more eating than baking!), but a few months ago for Father’s Day, I decided to try out a mirror glaze for the very first time. These drool-worthy, vibrantly colored glazes have taken over Instagram as the latest craze and I couldn’t resist giving it a try.

I volunteered to make dessert and went in search of a showstopping…

Blueberry Peach Crumb Cake

Every time my family went up to Rochester, NY to visit my Granny and Pop-Pop, we had to make a pitstop first. My grandfather’s very favorite treat in the world was a crumb cake from B&W Bakery in Hackensack, NJ. We’d pack up the car, stop by the bakery for a crumb cake, and then…

Peach and Pecan Upside Down Cake

Every summer, I’m faced with the eternal question…what to bring to an outdoor barbecue?? I wracked my brain for the perfect light, summery dessert and immediately thought of Upside Down Cake–something that’s long been on my baking bucket list.
